WALSON

About WALSON

Close to the work. Clear on what matters.

Established in Vientiane in January 2019, WALSON works on investment, transactions and the legal questions that follow a project into operation. Our approach connects local legal work with the commercial decisions a cross-border client needs to make.

We start with the decisions a client needs to make, then identify the legal work needed to support them. Being in Vientiane keeps our work close to local documents, procedures and the people implementing a project.

We explain the scope of each assignment, identify material issues early and maintain a clear line between legal analysis and commercial choice.

Working across Chinese and Lao legal contexts

Our Chinese lawyers, Lao lawyers and legal advisers work together, connecting cross-border investment arrangements with local legal, documentary and procedural requirements in Laos.

Experience throughout the project lifecycle

Our work covers investment feasibility, legal due diligence, transaction structures and documents, approval coordination, post-investment compliance and project exits. We address the legal priorities of each stage in energy, mining and industrial projects.

Partner involvement in project management

Partners participate in project coordination, quality control and the review of key legal opinions. Work plans, regular communication and progress reports help clients follow the development of their matters.
